Inner Space Techniques

Lying down, and going inside.

The change is yours to choose.

There is a space inside you that does not argue. It was there before the trouble started and it will be there after. Most of us touch it by accident — in grief, on a long walk, in the minute before sleep. IST is a way of going there on purpose, with someone sitting beside you who knows the way in.

Inner Space Techniques are a set of therapeutic and healing techniques based on the inner space of meditation, developed by Dr Samuel Sagan with a team of doctors, psychologists, homeopaths, naturopaths and other health practitioners over some twenty years. The approach is practical and profound. It works at the cause rather than the symptom — finding the source of a thing instead of managing what it throws off.

What happens

You lie down, and you go in.

You lie down. You close your eyes. I ask you questions, and you answer from wherever the answers come from — which is rarely where you expected. What surfaces is already yours. My work is to hold the thread while you follow it.

Come as you are. People arrive as lifelong meditators and as complete beginners. Many arrive in the middle of something hard, which is often what brings a person to the door in the first place.

IST is beyond explaining. It is about lying down and going inside, and finding the unexpected that is waiting for you.

People who have sat with me have written about it here.

Samuel Sagan recognized me as a practitioner of Inner Space Techniques in 2014. The longer story is here.

“You don't change by solving your problems; you solve your problems by changing.”

The other half

Everything I have learned in that room is somewhere in the books. A lioness loses her mother, and a snake tells her stories in the dark — the same work, arriving as story instead of practice.
