Samskaras

What is a Samskara and why does it matter?

Samskara is one of the most important Sankskrit terms in Hindu philosophy. Yoga, the union with the Higher Self, is said to be achieved as soon as the last samskara has been worked out. Therefore the primary objective of all yogas, or paths of self transformation, is to eradicate the samskaras of the mind. This is why it is so important for those who to want to know themselves, or rather their Self, to have a clear vision of all the mechanisms of their samskaras.

One of the wide variety of applications of Inner Space Techniques is sourcing samskaras.

When I sit with a client, I hear beyond their words and feel into their hearts. This allows me to touch deep parts of my clients, and let these parts be seen and healed.

As we sit in an IST session, I ask my clients to feel.

No matter the modality you may be using, feeling can help you move out of the ordinary and into the profound. In IST, we together go inside and source your current challenge back to its origins.

The next time you have something come up, a discomfort or irritation, etc. see if you can just sit with it. Stay with the feeling of whatever is happening. Do you feel happy, sad, mad or afraid?

It is amazing to see when a client is able to stay with a feeling and keep moving into it more deeply.

I can’t tell you how many times I have heard, “I forgot that happened.”

Most traumatic experiences are encapsulated into deep parts of the mind that we don’t usually touch unless we are undergoing an IST process or some other inner work.

Samskaras are the tracks left in the mind by previous traumatic experiences. Roughly speaking, samskaras are the ‘scars’ of the mind. (The association samskara-scar is easy to remember.)… Whether you realise it or not, in the depths of yourself your samskaras are perpetually crying out to be healed.

(Another excerpt from Past Life Regression for Here and Now Freedom by Dr. Samuel Sagan)

When we touch these experiences, we do it from a core place inside. This brings the healing, we are not in the place of being traumatized, we are feeling it from a place that can bring warmth, care, compassion and perspective. We reach clarity.

As we do this our samskaras, emotional wounds, have space to unwind. This frees parts of ourselves, which were entangled. It releases energy that was stuck.

So, when we remember something that was forgotten and experience it anew, we create the possibility for change.

When you have an experience and stop and feel, you move more deeply into yourself. Then you can see how that feeling makes you behave.

Samskaras are the patterns we unconsciously live by.

Start seeing how your emotions get you to do things, good or bad.

See beyond the reaction of whatever is causing your discomfort.
